Jax Sportify is excited to introduce JaSBaR - Jax Sportify Badminton Rating system that keeps track of performance of players - both as an individual and as a team. Presenting the maiden JaSBar Scores from the tournament held in Fall of 2024. All tournaments conducted by the club are rated. Please find below the FAQ with regards to the JaSBar Score.

What is a JaSBar score?

JaSBar score is a rating determined by Jax Sportify Club for all Badminton Players who are a member of the Club and who participate in the tournaments conducted by the club.

How is a JaSBar score determined?

JaSBar scores are determined via rated tournaments conducted by the club. All tournaments conducted by club would be rated. Players will gain scores for all levels ranging from participation to wins in leagues, and in playoffs.

How can I improve my JaSBar score?

Members can improve their JaSBaR score by participating in the tournaments conducted by the club. There will be 3-4 championship tournaments and several mini tournaments for specific categories during the year - all of which will be rated.

Are scores maintained only for Members?

Yes, JaSBar score will be maintained only for members of the club who participate in the tournament and are updated at the end of each tournament. Players must be an active Member of the club for the score to be determined.

Will it apply for Juniors below 18?

Yes, it applies for all levels and categories. However, for now, the score is determined and published only for Adults who participated in the 2024 Fall Tournament. The club will conduct a tournament for Juniors who are members of the club and as well who are part of our training program, in the near future. This would be a rated tournament and scores will be published thereafter.

Does the JaSBaR score differ between advanced and intermediate categories?

Yes, JaSBaR scores for advanced categories are usually 2x of intermediate category scores.

What is the purpose of a JaSBar score?

Rating of players is a common practice in Badminton. While our mission is to create a collaborative environment for the lovers of this sport, we would also like to encourage competitiveness among players which creates an opportunity to enhance the game and focus on improving individual’s fitness.

Will there be changes to the scoring system in the future?

Given this is an initial launch, it is possible we may do some tweaks to the framework in determining the scores but please be rest-assured, the scores will remain consistent.
