Format & Rules
General Rules:
All players must wear clean non marking shoes. players are requested to come in sportswear.
No changes to final-8 players list once the league starts.
All players must report at venue 15 minutes before game start.
Umpire decisions are final & irrevocable. Arguments with umpire will lead to player/team disqualification. This will be strictly followed.
Rules for the League:
Team & Match format - Summary:
8 overs an innings
6 players per team with 1 Impact Player (optional) per match. Please refer Impact Player Sub Rule section below for details.
Bowling - Over-arm throw with both legs inside bowling crease, no leaning forward - Incorrect action could result in a NO Ball.
First Over - Super Over - Scores double until wicket falls
Last Ball of the last over - Super Ball - Scores double, Wicket will have minus 2 runs penalty
Wide and No Ball - 1 run penalty, with free-hit for No-ball
Over per bowler limit: Over-arm throw (no regular bowling or run up) - only 2 bowlers can bowl max 2 Overs, rest get to bowl only 1 over.
Impact Player Sub Rule:
After the match starts, captains of both teams can nominate one of two substitutes to replace one of the players in the playing 6 during the following stages - at the end of an over - after over 4, or at the fall of a wicket after over 4 or if a batter retires after over 4.
If a bowling side brings on an Impact Player after the fall of a wicket or in the event of a batter retiring in the middle of an over, the incoming substitute cannot bowl the remaining balls of that over.
The Impact Player can bowl his full quota of overs irrespective of how many overs the player he is replacing has bowled before getting substituted.
The player in the playing 6 who is replaced by the Impact Player can play no further part in the match.
A team is allowed a maximum of one Impact Player substitute in a match.
First Over Rule: 1st over is super over. Double over (with the points scored by the team doubled including wide and No ball) if team loses a wicket – double over will stop at that moment while regular scoring will continue.
Wide ball rule:
1 run penalty to the bowling team, earning 1 run to batting team
No Ball rule:
Full toss above waist is a no-ball, ball not counted, 1 run penalty, and next ball is a free hit.
1st bouncer over shoulder height allowed with warning to bowler (Per over)
2nd bouncer over shoulder height is consider no ball, 1 run penalty, and next is a ball free hit.
2 no balls are allowed with penalty and if 3rd no ball in the same over, bowler will be disqualified.
No Ball if Ball pitches outside mat/pitch area.
Legitimate if Ball flies thru to wicketkeeper but the trajectory of the ball is within the mat, however, it could be a wide if bowled leg side.
Final decision will rest with the umpire.
Boundaries:
Fours: Beyond marked pillars, and below horizontal yellow line.
Sixes: Same as fours, except above horizontal yellow line.
Fly through shots will be counted as four or six based on 1st impact point
Over throws to the fence can result in 4s and 6s.
No Run – if ball goes beyond wickets even if first impact before wickets.
Catches:
Out - Direct catches, direct after re-bounce from side walls, & celling
Granted Runs & Not-out – Re-bounce from marked areas of back straight wall - 2s, 4s or 6s.
LBW:
No LBW outs, No Leg bye.
Other rules:
Super Ball - The last ball of the innings is a Super ball, with the points scored by the team doubled. If it is a dismissal, (-2) minus 2 runs penalty.
Wicket keeper is mandatory
Last batsman allowed, player can run single or double run to add to score.
In case of Tie, Super Over will be played.
Play off Rules:
Top 5 teams will qualify for Play-offs
Top Team - Direct Qualification for Semis
Quarter Finals - Remaining teams will play as below
QF 1 - #2 vs #5 - Winner goes to Semis
QF2 - #3 vs #4 - Winner goes to Semis
QF3 - Loser of QF1 vs Loser of QF2 - Winner goes to Semis
Semi-Finals
SF 1 - #1 vs QF3 Winner
SF2 - Winner of QF1 vs QF2
PROFANITY/CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL/ DRUNKEN TEAM MEMBERS ARE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELD
